How do i connect to the lights?
The trigger will go onto the hotshoe of your camera then sync to the lights when the on button is switched on the side of the left side of the trigger. Make sure trigger has the digital side facing towards you and that the receiver is plugged into one of the lights you are using.
How do I work the lights?
you’ll have a trigger attached to your camera which will set off the lights. They should be all synced up. Just turn off the ones that you don’t want. However there are members of staff available to help you out with this.
Am I allowed to play music and do you have speakers?
Yes and yes.We have a Bluetooth Speaker set up ready to go just keep in mind that we have neighboring businesses so keep volume reasonable.
Can the staff set up the lights and equipment for me?
Yes we can but it comes at an extra cost of an additional hour.
Is lighting and backdrops available?
Yes lighting and backdrops are available during booking, and included in the price of the booking
Are Cameras available?
Yes however this needs to be discussed with staff members and a price will be arranged.
What if I am Late to my booking?
Your time will start from when you booked. So all hours will be accounted for when you finish your booking. For example start time 11 am, Late arrival 12 pm, finish at 1 pm. Will result in 2 hour booking. Please do let us know if you will be late so we can keep you informed whether an extension is available, we cannot guarantee you will still have a booking if you are later than your arranged hours.
Can i bring my own equipment?
Yes you can bring your own equipment if you’d like.
Is there a changing room?
Yes we do have a changing room.
How do i Pay?
All payments are made upfront. Bank transfer, cash, card payments or invoice. extensions will be paid on the day.
What’s included in the studio hire?
You get full use of the shooting space, lighting equipment, backdrops, props, changing area, and any furniture available on the day. If you need anything specific, just ask in advance.
Do I need to arrive early to set up?
Your setup and pack-down time is included within your booking. Please book a slightly longer slot if you know you’ll need extra time.
can i bring my own props and furniture?
Small props are totally fine. Larger items or anything messy (paint, liquids, foliage etc.) need approval beforehand.
Can I shoot video as well as photos?
Yes, the studio is suitable for both. If you need a quiet time slot for sound recording, let us know. we also have continuous lighting available to use.
Do you allow pets or children at shoots?
Yes, as long as they are supervised at all times and the space is left clean.
Is there parking available?
Yes and it’s free parking
How do cancellations work?
Cancellations within 48 hours of your booking will still be charged. but letting us know in advance will result in a partial refund.
Can I extend my session on the day?
If the studio is free after your slot, we can extend your booking. Additional time is charged in 1 hour increments.
Do you allow commercial or branded shoots?
Yes, whether you're a business, agency, brand, or content creator. Just let us know if you require additional space or equipment.
Do you allow adult content?
Mild boudoir is fine, but explicit adult content requires prior approval. We just need to ensure it fits within our building/insurance rules.
Is the studio accessible?
The studio is on the top floor however there is a lift in the building that you can use. Just let us know prior to the booking.
Do you offer memberships or regular booking packages?
Yes we have monthly memberships which includes for every hour you pay for you get a free hour with it to use for another booking. Get in touch for details.
What happens if equipment gets damaged?
We understand accidents happen but hirers are responsible for the cost of damage. Please notify us immediately if something goes wrong.
Can i bring a team or extra people?
Yes but please stick to the studio’s capacity limit. If you’re bringing a large team, let us know in advance.
Can i come and View the Studio before booking?
Yes studio tours are free. Just message us to arrange a time.
Do you have WIFI?
Yes. The password is provided when you arrive.
Can i book recurring weekly/monthly slots?
Absolutely. Regular bookings are popular we can secure a recurring time for you.
Do you have heating/air con?
Heating and air con is available
Do you provide photographers or assistants?
The studio is hire-only, but we do offer photography and videography services, we can also recommend photographers, videographers, or assistants if needed.
What backdrops are available?
We keep a rotating selection of paper rolls and fabric backdrops. Ask for our current list before your session.
Can i host workshops or classes in the studio?
Yes small workshops, tutorials, and 1:1 sessions are welcome. Larger events may require extra planning.
Is there somewhere for clients to wait?
Yes we have a seating area for if your clients arrive before you.
Do you offer student discounts?
We offer student discounts. Just send a picture of your UNI ID on the day of shoot or prior to the shoot.
