WHAT IS PHOTOMAFIA STUDIOS?

Welcome to PHOTOMAFIA STUDIOS – a photography studio & Arts Space in Northampton co-founded by Alex Macchiarelli and Joe Westley, two passionate photographers with a shared vision to support and uplift our local creative community. Together, we bring years of experience across diverse photography fields, united by our commitment to providing photographers and videographers with an inspiring, accessible studio environment.

Since opening PHOTOMAFIA STUDIOS in 2021, we’ve aimed to give artists a place where they can develop their practice, explore new techniques, and bring ambitious projects to life. As part of this mission, we launched an exhibition Program that provide a platform for emerging and established creatives alike. Our exhibitions invite photographers, videographers, visual artists and more to showcase their work, connect with a like-minded community, and contribute to Northampton’s thriving and rapidly growing arts scene.

We also know that having a professional space to experiment shouldn’t come at a high cost. By offering low-cost studio hire rates, we make PHOTOMAFIA STUDIOS an affordable resource for creatives looking to elevate their craft. Whether you're here to shoot your next portfolio piece, test a new concept, or be inspired by the work of others, we’re here to support you every step of the way. We’ve even launched a membership that provides members with buy one get on free on studio hires to really maximize their time and flourish.

Within our studio is the PHOTOMAFIA bookshop, an extension of our creative community. This bookshop not only offers a carefully curated selection of books but also hosts workshops and events that inspire and connect creatives from all walks of life. It’s welcoming atmosphere makes it the perfect place to unwind, find inspiration, or collaborate on your next big idea.
