Work experience at Photomafia Studios

We’re passionate about nurturing the next generation of photographers and videographers! That’s why we offer work experience opportunities for students and beginners eager to sharpen their skills and explore their creativity. We believe in encouraging people to see the world through a creative lens, and our work experience program is a perfect way to kickstart that journey.

We tailor our sessions to fit the interests and goals of each individual. Drawn to a specific type of photography or videography? or just looking to expand your overall skills? we figure out what the student wants to focus on and then go from there! Our hands-on approach not only enhances their technical abilities but also fosters strong communication skills and builds relationships that inspire and gives the motivation the student needs to think about a career in the creative arts.

We’ve welcomed numerous work experience students and have been thrilled with the amazing feedback and reviews we’ve received. Seeing our students gain confidence and excitement about diving into the creative scene is incredibly rewarding. Here’s what a few of them had to say:

  • "I’ve known the guys at Photomafia studios for a good while now and I initially met them through my work experience period. Despite not being open for very long at the time the guys welcomed me with open arms for a 4 week period, at just a few days a week to see how the studio works and how they go about their work with clients. They ensured that the days I did my work experience were full of different jobs and shoots, from podcast episodes to promo shoots for local artists they had it covered and ensured I got involved with whatever they had going on!

Alongside this they also spent the time to sit down with me and show me some behind the scenes of running a business, things that you don’t get to learn in school usually so it was very helpful to me seeing this first hand:) As much as this was my work experience for sixth form, they couldn’t have made my time with them more enjoyable and I can’t thank them enough, I would highly recommend to anyone!"

  • "Work experience at photomafia was one of the biggest privileges I had in my time at sixth form, particularly for helping cement the fact I wanted to go into film, they really supported me with my decision.

Photoshoots, interviews, editing, digital media marketing and building a basis for camera skills was only a small amount of what I got to learn and be apart of. Really great and friendly atmosphere to be in when working, and allowed me to meet a lot of cool people along the way too. Even now they are still supporting me in my future projects and seeing my progression with both videography and photography."

  • "My work experience with PHOTOMAFIA STUDIOS was excellent and one that I truly enjoyed. Everyday I spent there I was faced with exciting challenges and tasks to focus on; this included learning different softwares, camera equipments, and meeting different photographers and their experiences in the work sector. This has helped me massively with my studies in A Level Photography as I gained valuable knowledge of using different techniques and opened my eyes to different types of photography. Whether it was a life lesson from Alex, or a video to edit, there was never a dull day.

Not only this, but I also made friends with other people who completed work experience there, which helped me hugely with my confidence and social skills. This added to my overall experience as the studio was a place I could have fun and gain work experience at the same time. And, after completing my time there, they were kind enough to offer their studio to me for my own use with my personal projects. Ultimately, I had such a fun time there and I am so thankful for the team taking the time to educate me on what it means to start a business and be part of the creative industry, and I left excited for my future to work towards a similar career!"
